Holder/Rest for 30foot pole
« on: April 04, 2006, 10:48:16 pm »
Is there any sort of holder/rest like you use when boat fishing for putting the butt of the pole in.
I've been resting mine on my leg when rincing but thought something like this would make it easier.

One slip and it's not just fishing tackle you'd be worried about! :o
It's a game of three halves!

Got a few ideas.

Was talking to my mate (also a w/c) who suggested similar.

This is what you lot are on about

And here is the site i got the pic from
http://www.northerntooluk.com/product/default.asp?id=2521

I have one i used to use with my pressure washer lance and tried it and it does not work well for wfp.
Maybe if you are using a 60ft pole and need it up there a while but apart from that no good for WFP

When I first started WFP'ing many years ago, I thought that I neeeded someting like this, but as you get used to using your poles you realise that it would actually hinder you.

The way you get round it is to have your pole slightly longer and rest the side of the pole against the inside of your right leg which gives you greater control over the pole.
