Do these poles have postive stops or does each section comeaway freely.
Is the woven in contrast band in the carbon or just the top layers?
So am i right in saying that after a few months use this woven-in contrast band disappears as it has on my poles or are the newer poles epoxy matrix layer different.I only ask as i'm looking at getting a new pole and there seems to be a bit more choice about.Sorry to butt in on the thread.

The joint indicator tape acts as a joint stop - stopping the section from being over-extended. However if pulled hard enough you can slide the sections out past this tape and the pole then becomes a pull-apart pole. If you do not like working with joint indicator tape then it can be removed and the woven-in contrast band gives clear indication of where to stop the section.
Stop being tight Gary and just buy an six, you'll get home much earlier:)
