Getting readings of 48tds from the membrane
Tap pressure 45psi to 50psi 444tds

Should my reading be lower ??

buy a booster pump, that will lower your tds to around 10. clarke 240 from machine mart at 300 quid are a good buy. run it at about 40% tank 60% drain and it should give you around 200 litres an hour

It's been in 12 months just not happy with high Tds and killing resin off quicker.. Just wanna no how other peoples 4040 perform.
I've never got below 37 Tds from new but my brother has the same system and gets his down to 15tds from my tap why???

I've got a 4040 which I've been using for nearly a year.
It's a HF4 membrane.
My tap pressure is only about 35 psi (280ppm) and just off of tap pressure I could only get about 35ppm output.
I added a booster pump which got pressure at membrane to 100 psi and got the output down to 7ppm before resin with a good increase in production.
What membrane do you have Avo?
Im just wondering if you do need a booster pump?

my  tap tds is 270 over the last six years I find ro membrane only last max 18 months max.i have good mains pressure
I recently spoke to pure freedom and asked about booster pump they said yes will reduce tds after ro,but will shorten life of ro,I don't know if that's correct as guys on here say booster pump prolongs ro life
Ps my tds out of ro is 35 ro is 18 months old,going from past experience I will be replacing ro soon

im guessing here by comparing with my brothers that I'm running hf4 and his is running hf5 I've never been happy from the off with my systems performance and 48tds is a joke.... 

That about the norm then 18 months life span??
If so only got 6 months to go  yipeeee

It must be costing you in resin?
I use an 11 ltr resin vessel and have not changed the resin for a year and should get a few more months out of it yet still I reckon.

Im the same avo, pure freedom 4040 and with new membrane i never get it lower than 37 and thats with a booster pump! 350ppm coming in Im not sure if its something pure freedom do that only a certain pressure can be used or what but cant get lower than 37 thats with a hf4 and my recent bought hf5.
Verey disapointed as i here of others getting as low as 2ppm from theres.

I've only had my 4040 and booster pump for about a year.
But as I said in my earlier post it will bring the tds down to an acceptable level and will also produce the pure water quicker.

I have a static set-up in the garage fed by an outside tap.
The booster pump I use does require a 230 volt electricity supply:

My set-up (all in the garage) is as follows:
Hose from outside tap to booster pump to Fibredyne pre-filter to 4040 membrane to DI vessel to static tank.

The cbm240e has this electronic control unit to maintain constant pressure and a built in dry running cut-out.

You probably could get along ok without the control unit or add it at a later date if you wanted.

With the waste valve set at about 60% waste to 40% pure ratio the pressure gauge on my pre-filter reads 100 psi.
The Clarke is a good pump and made for the job.
