What to include on new flyer
« on: July 11, 2014, 09:40:29 am »
Here's  the flyer I had been using

poo isn't it?

When I got this together I thought it was pretty good, but I've since realised that it's bland and not very attention grabbing.

So on a new leaflet my plan would be to include an offer voucher, more text offers, pics of clean carpet, possibly pictorial reference to a local landmark (that's Mike Halliday's idea). Some people say include a pic of yourself, but does anyone really want to see a slightly overweight 40 year old staring back at them?

Has anyone got a good example they could email me? Or just any good suggestions really.

Many thanks

Owen  ???

Owen on a sensible note why not replace the van with a picture of you as its you not the van who will be in their homes.I think it shows a good level of honesty/transparency...............Alan

Owen do you not have a local number.

I find no one want's to call my 0800 number except for commercial work.

I think a leaflet or print in general looks better with a local number on.

Fair point Neil - I can't see anything pikey about it mind you, just too boring and bland. Next you'll be having a go at the spelling and punctuation. Oh no, hang on...

I was always told that if you had a freephone number that you would get more calls. Having said that I suppose everyone gets so many free minutes these days that it doesn't matter so much any more.

yeah looks very bland. Mike Halliday does some nice one's, not overly complicated but effective. I'm sure if you ask nicely he'll email you some examples (sorry Mike  ;D)

I would:
1. get rid of the email address (you don't want emails, the goal is to make them ring the telephone), twitter and facebook  icons. They don't mean anything.
2. Use  more catchy/effective headline.
3. A call to action with a deadline.
4. A few before n afters. Pictures and thousands words n all that stuff.
5. Add mobile and landline. More friendly and local.

Plenty of good advice there, much appreciated fellas.

Actually I'm going to be at Mike's house tomorrow so I'll see if he's got any leaflets handy  :)

Agree with most of that EXCEPT the email bit.
Absolutely must collect emails in my opinion for ongoing email marketing campaigns.
People are never off their iPhones these days, removing an option to contact you by simple email is not a good idea.

I don't think so,  they are just in JPEG

They are an example of a designer in the USA who does carpet cleaning leaflets I bet he could alter the design to suit any company, he was touting his services on the USA truckmount forum
