How much work do you get from your website?
« on: July 09, 2014, 07:46:44 am »
Hi.

I have a car valeting site that gets me approx 2 enquiries a week.

However a have a pressure washing site that ive had on first page of goole for "pressure washing leeds" about 4 months now and only 3 enquires in total.

Having tried leafleting to the tune of a very low response rate im thinking about spending some money on seo

Just wondering for you guys with really good sites how many enquiries do you get in an average wee/month?

thanks adam

Adam,

If you haven't already, create an account with Google webmaster (I think its called something else now) and create a Google analytics code for your site. It sounds harder than it is. You then put the code in your website, and it tracks visitors, what pages they are looking at, for how long they look, etc.

It's worth its weight in gold. You can then see what pages need work, what pages are holding their attention for longer etc. and change/make better the pages that need work. You can also track how many visitors your getting, and if its a lot, but your only getting a handful of enquiries, then you know its something to do with your website.

Its free, and its helped me tweak and fine tune my site.

Adam, is the site near the top of the search for the obvious search terms? If its not near the top your going to get very little calls.

To be honest, it shouldn't be that hard to get a pressure washing site near the top.

do people search for "pressure washing leeds" though? or are they more liking to search for "drive way cleaning leeds" or "patio cleaning leeds" etc etc

You should do some research using the google keyword tool and then write articles (between 500 - 1000 words per article, add some photos and videos to the articles) and optimise those articles with that keyword i.e. one article = one keyword. For example, "Patio Cleaning Experts in Leeds". And post those articles on your site. Maybe in the form of a blog post.
Try to get a ton of likes and shares on facebook, Google+ and get them retweeted on twitter.

As I say, it shouldn't be too hard to rank for pressure washing search terms.

Thanks, that is food for thought, i have been doing a lot of leafletting for various services recently and the response rate is something like 0.01%

I think im going to spend my money on the internet side of things from now on

cheers

just as a quick note stuff like pressure washing, decking cleaning, patio cleaning, driveway cleaning afre very low search volumes in comparison to car valeting and carpet cleaning. May be something to think about..
