I recently bought some work off an old guy who was retiring.
When I bought the work he warned me about one woman whom he had stopped cleaning last year, saying she was always arguing about price etc.

Sure enough after I had done a couple of cleans in that area she collared me and asked me for a price to clean all her UPVC. I told her how much and she readily agreed and we booked her in.

Turned up yesterday, knocked on to tell her we were starting and she asked us if we wanted a brew, rude not to.

Did the job, during which she made us two cuppas. When we finished I knocked on, she came out, had a look round and declared that she was very impressed. She handed me the money saying "it's all there, less a fiver for the cups of tea".

I laughed thinking she was making a joke, when I got in the van and counted it I was a fiver short .

First and last time I do anything for her..

How much did you charge for the job?

(1) Inform HMRC and the local council that she has a tea making business.
(2) Inform Health & Safety that she is making tea in a kitchen that has not been checked for health hazards.
(3) Make a claim against her "business" because you scalded yourself on her tea.
(4) Complain to the council because she did not have her prices posted in the vicinity of the property.

Whichever way you look at it, £2.50 a cup is a rip off.
