« on: June 29, 2014, 09:42:55 am »
setting up a van i came to the conclusion that 1 battery is  not gonna last for  2 pumps /controllers working off it all day . is it best to get a more powerful battery? or rig up a 2nd battery?  and then how do you charge it ? on 1 battery i have a split charger.  any advice would be welcome regards andy

I've used a 110Ah leisure battery on a split relay with two pumps for some time and never had a problem.

We ale run that way and never have any issues. We used to use 2 controllers but now use the Gardiners twin one.

We do, at a highish flow rate - 2 litres per minute for each pole.

cool ive purchased a 115 amp batt from halfords (bargain at 89 quid). 1 system works great but the other keeps shutting off . it works for a few moments then keeps shutting off. im thinking my pump is gone because the controller is new (gardiners 1 ). has anyone got any ideas?

I have a 130 ah agm battery set up with 2 pumps and controllers but with minimum dead end pressure, I also have a SCR.  I find this all works well and have had the same battery for 3 and a 1/2 years, however I think 2 smaller cheaper batteries would be better and possibly more cost effective.

wire the pump straight to the battery to rule out the controller, if its doing the same thing i would look to the pressure switch of the pump, i got rid of all controllers a long time ago and have far less stress now :-)
