Hi guys i recently moved to south east and having an issue with my Webato boiler in my system, and cant find any one near me to service this boiler.

Does anyone know anywhere down south east ?

As per Franky. Also check out the boatyards as they will be able to recommend a service agent if they don't do it themselves.

Hi spruce, well you wouldn't believe this, i went to the local boat yard who usually sort these kind of boilers and he said, we used to service them, but not any more, and i asked him why, because they are good boilers and not much go wrong with them, but he said otherwise and he said they had lot of problem with them recently, he then recommend me some one in poole who specialise in webasto, which is quiet far from me, and when i phoned the other guy, he said the same  and now i am thinking if there is any serious problem with webasto servicing department.

Yes i did and the nearest to me is in Edenbridge. company call Vehvac
But still 50 miles away.

Webasto's don't  work well with red diesel that the marinas sell for boat use. They coke up with soot and need servicing more often. Webastos are not cheap to service so this situation didn't vote well with boat owners, especially live a-boards. So the issues the boatyards have with boat owners are fuel related. The boatyards have been screwed a bit by Webasto IMPO. Webasto have allowed the boatyards to supply the marine industry with diesel heaters, even promoting their diesel heaters to this industry on their website.

But when the proverbial hit the fan with a large number of owner complaints, Webasto let the suppliers and fitters  carry the financial can. Webasto now have a small print disclaimer to warn users not to use red diesel. It's little wonder then that the boatyards are a little peed with Webasto.

The New Boat Company was taken to court by a customer for supplying and fitting a Webasto diesel heater that the customer said wasn't fit for purpose. The New Boat Company lost the court case.

Thank you for explaining this to me, i thought the guy was a bit strange saying that they don't deal with it any more and he had webasto sign all over his shop, but i don't use red diesel in my boiler any way.
This is a real put off actually, because its a bit of pain for me to take it 40 miles away every time it goes wrong, in fact its not good thing for webasto

Webasto's are a specialized product so you wouldn't find repairers on every corner. The electronics that control the heater are very complex and repairers will be trained by Webasto to service their equipment to an advance standard. If a repairer does a bad job, it reflects badly on the Webasto product and their name.

I would go with their recommended repairer to begin with - in time you may find another repairer closer to you. I can't see you will need a repairer very often so over time the distance is probably negligible.

If you google webasto service you will find a complete self service manual complete with pictures and easy to follow instructions. I find running my system constantly with return to tank when not pumping to pole, i havent had any issues or service in 3 years.

by the time you ve paid for the webasto service,driven there and back etc,etc you could buy a gas boiler from corwoods for less than £200!does the same job mate!

I ended up selling my purefreedom hot box as it got through leisure batterys really quickly plus diesel cost, servicing seemed to be every 2 years ... too much expense for hot .... I got a corwoods heater in the end...... the only thing I miss a bit is the way I used to keep the hot water re circulating back to the tank and the pipe stayed continually hot....where as now if I have a bit of a drive from job to job the pipe has cooled a bit ..... any suggestions ?

I live on the south coast and have had a diesel heater for 7 odd years and never had it serviced varitech told me you don't need to touch them, mine works the same if not better now the wiring has been replaced from heater to battery. It was using nothing better than stereo wire before cos the other bloke that fitted it didn't have much of a clue lol
