Amazed at the amount of calls i get wanting a ''one off clean''  or something silly like a 4 monthly clean...

Why are so few people requesting 4 or 8 weekly cleans?

Someone asked me for a quote for a  semi detached (7 windows and one patio) i asked how often and they said 4 monthly(nice estate) so i said £22... they basically said ''no way'' i mean really i would do for a tenner?

let's hope some more regular work comes in. not saying ''one off cleans aren't good'' as u can charge more but are you guys getting the same thing?

Getting a lot lately, but I have a £40 minimum charge which normally puts them off 

A lot from people who are coming to the end of their tennancies, and it's in the contract that the windows must be cleaned, or they will lose part of their deposit to cover the cost !

I try and charge at least double these days for one-offs,  twice the work and time.

from time to time do,get asked but always tell them its double and rarely get a 'yes'...

anything over 2 monthly i class as one off and either charge price and half or double as i do find some not surrounded by trees,roads etc are still quite clean and even though they're once in a blue moon they help me out on quiet days!

I only get a handful of one offs.
Don't mind 'em. I do them at my convenience and price high.
I think for the first time today I had an enquiry asking for 'a one off deep clean then monthly'
Don't think any of my customers have realised, until I've told 'em, that the first clean is much more work.

1offs are £25 before I start. First thing I tell all new customers, that way we all know where we stand. £25 before you start might seem high but it isn't.

I think £25 is fair for a one off for say a regular semi(priced at say 12-15 monthly) and like you said if you have a quieter week then just fit it in around your schedule...

I also am surprised at the amount of calls i get almost expecting me to do it ''that day'' or the day after but hey some calls are better than no calls and it's all money i guess especially in this climate :-)

I did this one to this today for £80. It was an EOT clean. Took 40 minutes as they hadn't been cleaned for over a year. I never did a second whizz over the glass, so they probably weren't perfect but good enough for an EOT I think.

i was knocking out EOT window cleans for £30/£40 and were taking me a hour or slightly less or more.

I knew they wasnt happy with the prices. They felt i was charging too much.

My partner has her properties with them and when they dropped me she took all her rentals back when she was out of contract.

We collected the keys together, should have seen their face lol.

Bet they wish they would have sat me down and talked to me. Oh well deffo their loss MOHHAAHAHA!

I have a minimum of £50 for eot cleans, and after a recent incident where the customer vanished without paying I now insist on payment in advance!

As soon as they say they want a one off clean I estimate the regular price and either double or treble it depending whether how near I am on a given day. And how I feel. It is a take it or leave it.

That's because they are tightwads who don't have their windows cleaned regularly.

Which is why they need educating through expensive one off clean prices. Why have a regular window clean when there are windies happy to do it for the same price? I also think it is unfair on regulars to not charge very high for one offs.

I think you misunderstood. £25 before I start. i.e. £25 + whatever I choose to price. 1offs are normally 35ish for a 3 bed semi. Also, I can't remember the last time I did a "that day" clean, but it was many years ago.

Wow so £25 plus say £15 for a semi.. £40 for a one off sounds quite alot to me unless it's out of your way but if it's in a area where you have regulars anyway... There not paying £25(well just) but anything more for a semi and they wouldn't pay around here.. and like i said it's a well off part of the uk.. Maybe people are just a bunch of tight a**es, no idea but it's the regular work i want ideally...

How many semi's have you done for £35 + then soupy? Where are you based?

I don't want them really. The inflated price is to get them to go regular: I'll do it as a one off for £35 or monthly for a £10.
