I recently purchased an extreme brush and so far I'm not too impressed. Yes it is extremely light, but this seems to have been achieved by hardly using any bristles on the brush head, I used it today and found that is was not cleaning anywhere as well as my previous brush, and that it seemed to flick alot of water about causing runs as the water drips back down from the top of the frames. Anyone else had similar issues?

Yes I agree, in my opinion they are a bit flimsy for maintenance cleans, I wouldn't want to take the risk.
Brilliant for high work though which I guess is what they were designed for.
I've stuck mine on my slx35 and it's really easy doing velux's now.

The only thing I find with the extreme brushes is that they are not very forgiving over using at the wrong angle, IMO i dont like them on the carbon goosenecks I only use them with the plastic ones. Other than that the new hybrid one seems good with hot water with good cleaning ability.

Sorry cant agree with you, Iv been using an xtreme medium mixed (black and white) for about 4 months now.
I can honestly say its a brilliant brush and the scrubbing power is first class.
Done a  property today with the worst degraded rubber seals Iv ever seen, the water was running off
them like black ink.
Thanks to the xtreme I was able to rub any water beading from them with ease and they came up perfect.
What I will say is that it does take a while to get used to them especially if you are used to a heaver brush
with more bristles.

I just started using today a xtreame flocked soft hybrid and its so light and doesn't even feel like its scrubbing the glass. Its done a good job once I got use to it . it increased my speed over the day so paid for itself already

they just take a bit of getting used to groundhog.ive been using an extreme medium mixed all day on my extreme 25.good scrubbing power for a very light brush.lots of awkward windows cleaned with ease.i also have one of the new gardiners scrapers with scrubber pad.VERY good for baked on bird muck and bee spots etc.excellent.

I can't use anything other than Xtremes now. It's usually the characteristic of a stiff bristled brush to "flick" water. Which one did you buy Hoggy?

You may have to re-train your brain with an Xtreme brush- not to press on so hard.

i have to say after using an superlite medium mix then trying the extreme medium mix i wasnt sure myself with the lightness and feeling on scrubbing the glass but after a few goes i got used to it and love it, over the day you definately feel the weight difference as you get more tired.
think Alex could do with making something just in between now and that will be the perfect brush as i did find it wasnt great on the sills with the shorter bristles.

i use an extreme and have never not been able to remove any crap off windows, saying that i always soak them, then scrub, leave for a while come back and remove.

Maybe technique is the problem ? i can imo say the extreme is a good brush but each to his own

I am used to using a vikan brush, and I used the wide extreme using my usual technique which has always been very effective, but was horrified to see that there was lots of marks where the brush hadn't removed dirty marks properly, but worst of all was the runs where the water had splashed up above the windows! I don't want to risk using it again, so will be changing it for a regular brush ASAP!

The wide Xtreme is a very different brush to the type of brush you were used to and takes a different technique to master.

Generally when switching from the heavier/denser Vikan brushes we would recommend either of the following brushes to try:

Because bee poo is resistant to the brushing power of an extreme brush. You ever done an outside clean then gone in to the insides after using an extreme? You'll be shocked. I was. I wont touch an extreme anymore.
