Anyone running the new Transit?
« on: June 14, 2014, 06:20:45 pm »
I'm torn between the smaller connect, fine for me but limits any room for growth or other services, or the Tranny.
Not too worried about lease or purchase. Currently have a nearly 6 yr old Ducato that I've had from new.
Anyone got the new, rate it?
Thanks
Tony

I'm in the same boat. I've a 6 year old Citroen Dispatch from new and was going to go for the new transit. But I've decided now to take out a small mortgage and purchase the Ford Ranger Wildtrak and have a 350ltr system with fast filler pump fitted . Want to be able to close the roller type door over the system

When you say the new transit do you mean the transit custom or the new transit?

Darren from purple rhino has the new transit that's the new new one lol.

Been out about a month or so! :)

My 61 plate transit has been at Fords, on and off for 3 months now with pulsing and other bits. They gave me a custom with 25k on the clock  :o Not so nice. My transit is semi high roof and LWB. The custom is SWB with stop start (eco). I get 36 mpg in the custom 32max  :o it runs rubbish. Others will run better, so drive one and check the mpg. The cab is tiny compared to transit. The seats are firm as with all new Fords. My transit seats are lush. On the plus side. It drives like a car. It realy does. Steering lock is good. It holds no weight and bottoms out.
The new Transit, I don't know. How much are they. Drive the new Renault to compare them. Go out and have some test drives. VW are good but X2 the price, which is a lot

My guys love the transit
We bought the trend - it has loads of kit and is a great drive.
We fitted an ionics thermopure zero - 1000 ltr
Not quite as much room inside the back as in the outgoing renault master it replaces

What are your opinions on the ionics Zero, do you think there is much difference in cleaning ability and speed of clean
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Its just a sales gimmick , you'll get no better or faster cleaning! Unless you spend the big money on it then you will eventually convince yourself its way better!

I have no idea if it is quicker or better than a home made kit - probably not.

What I like about it - is that my guys only have to connect hose and plug into the mains - everything is then automatic - so that is a bonus for me and for them as they often work long hours each day and are usually in a hurry to get home after parking the van in the unit.

The only way to tell if it is better I suppose is to buy one and compare with what you already use - we also have an old Facelift system and a home made contraption.

I prefer to spend time finding new customers rather than buggering about building systems just to save a few quid - one job can pay for an Ionics or a Facelift system for example.
