change superlite to xtreame
« on: June 14, 2014, 04:55:26 pm »
Hi everyone,
I been using superlite brushes for about 4years now and love them, I manage to do sills with them without difficulty. Its time to renew so thinking of getting extreme brushes, are they as usable on everything like superlite inc managing cleaning sills.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Great brushes but will only last between 2 and 6 months
If weight is an issue, then use them, if your super lights have served you well, carry on with new super lights.

If in doubt.....Leave it out !!

My advice is to try one, I would probably recommend the medium mixed Xtreme. I can't use anything else now, even superlites seem like bricks in comparison! You'll work faster & easier with an Xtreme brush but we all work differently & like different things. The Xtreme brushes though are just too good for any wfp'er not to try. I actually trim the outer bristles down approx 5mm on mine, so you could say I use extreme Xtyreme brushes!! :)

+1, especially their longevity
Look at them as a disposable razor

They don't last very long and bristles easily fall out. Should be more bristles compacted in the stock :)

I've found extremes don't really cut the mustard unless I'm cleaning very clean maintenance glass.

I've tried quite a few brushes and have quite a collection. I always feel happiest with the Xtreme medium mixed. Excellent brush. Lasts longer than the soft hybrid blue/black bristled one. A bit disappointed with that one to be honest, dropped quite a few bristles after a couple of weeks!! The Xtreme brushes are ace with the resident-neck swivel  ;D

i tried an used extreme that dave wood gave me this week with a swivel from gardiners and i bloody love it, feels great on the windows like you can really scrub them well but i like the longer bristles on the superlite for wiping the sills.

I Bought an Extreme brush last week, unbelievably flimsy, this time of year with all the bird and insect crap on the glass they simply are not good enough to do a sufficient job.

I'd still use a vikan brush if I could. They just feel too heavy on a full carbon pole.

Super lites do the job well enough.

Extreme brush with the scraper is a great combo!

I am hoping Alex is listening but there is a real gap in his brushes.

i would LOVE to see a 180-200gram extreme brush. Few more bristles and you are laughing!

I think the sill brush needs a revamp and an extreme sill brush would be awesome!

I personally use the Xtreme brushes (current favourite the Xtreme Soft Hybrid) as I like the weight and speed they impart to your work. They do not have the ultimate scrubbing power of a denser bigger brush such as the Super-Lite, but for me the weight is more important.

I never have to get another brush on the pole as even if I encounter birds mess, bee spots or spider's nest's I wet, scrub, soak and then walkway and come back for a 2nd scrub. This is usually all that I find is needed even with an Xtreme. I do now have the Super-Scraper fitted to my poles so this is even easier, quick rinse and a scrub with the abrasive pad takes care of anything and lets you get back to standard cleaning with the brush.

For some scrubbing power and bristle density is more important - the larger Super-Lite are better suited in this case. It really does depend on priorities and often working method used.

Pure H2O - I am working with a Super-Lite brush at the moment that only weighs 175g so not as light as the Xtreme, but a good bit lighter than a standard Super-Lite. I still prefer the lighter weight of the Xtreme, but this could be the halfway house that suits another section of people.

+1 on the extreme cill brush.
Or even a more densely packed super-light cill brush.

Hi Alex

Are your super scrapers compatible with the use of an aquadapter?

They are not currently compatible with the use of an Aquadapter.

I use both extremes and standard sl brushes for window cleaning.for accounts with lots of awkward windows I keep the extreme on.

For standard houses, first cleans and some larger 2monthly jobs I use the sl brushes as they have better scrubbing power and generally clean better faster.
price higher/work harder!

Alex will the new 175g sl brush come with the hybrid bristle.
I've had a few hybrid brushes and find the scrubbing power much better than the normal bristle.

Thank Paul

I have not decided on exact bristle types yet, just trying out the design at the moment. I imagine there will be a stiff, a medium, a flocked and a hybrid version of them though as these seem to be popular.
