Fishy?

No, not that company in Swanage.

In 2012 my van got hit by an old lady on a roundabout 100% her fault, no injuries all sorted done and dusted.

Today, I get a phonecall from some company to say that even though I wasn't injured there is a substantial amount of money unclaimed by me for my "minor injuries and discomfort" well over £1000 and I just need to claim it and I will be paid wthin six weeks.

Anyone else had this crap?

They are due to phone back tonight.

Ask for details of the claim they think this refers to.

I had a similar call last week about my recent accident. (I havn't had a recent accident)

Did they actually know the details of your accident or were they just phishing?

I get about 3 or 4 a year. If you have no moral scruples go ahead. If you don't lots will and I understand that the insurance companies sell the data.

They seemed to know something about the case. My insurance company don't know anything about it. As far as they are concerned the claim is closed.

I suppose you have to invent an injury that you didn't report at the time.

On the one occasion I called back (morbid curiosity and wind up only) they basically said even if it was very minor and hardly worth mentioning it should be claimed for. Nudge, nudge, hint, hint. Oh, I had a van take off my wing mirror whilst I was parked, so it was to that extent genuine. They had the dates.

I'd keep contact with them, seems you could be onto a winner

Make sure you hand over and bank details when asked, and if you need to put forward £5k upfront just remember you could reap huge rewards...

 ;D

Doubt its legit mate, i get around 3/4 if these sort of calls a week!
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

I've been plagued by calls from various injury claim companies since about August last year.
Im really fed up with it.
Someone nudged into the back of my van in April 2013, and put a small dent in the door skin.
Everything went through insurance and my van was repaired quickly and there were absolutely no injuries on either side because I was stationery and the other vehicle literally nudged into me at less than 5 mph.
In August last year my wifes car insurance was due for renewal and to follow procedure I had to mention this incident.
We got a cheaper renewal price with a different insurance company and so didn't continue with the company my wife had previously been with.
The bar stewards then sold the details on to all and sundry with my mobile number contact details without my permission.
When I've told these companies I wasn't injured they then turn round and tell me I can claim for discomfort.
I feel it would be dishonest for me to claim in my situation and tell them so, but still even today I am getting companies ring me.
The truth is that these companies make a lot of money out of these claims.

As odd as it is. All insurance companies have to put aside money for this even if no parties are injured. My wife got £500 and insisted she wasn't hurt. Just make sure its either parties insurance company and not a crappy claim company

It's the bottom line here I disagree with.
They do make a lot of money but it's us that fundamental it with higher premiums.
You and I would be strung up for fraud, and although this may not be, you carny get much closer.

That's what I meant Tony.
These claims companies make a lot of money out of accident claims.
And the money has to come from somewhere and that is from loading all of our insurance premiums.
I will not be pursuing any injury claim because I did not suffer injury or discomfort (despite various companies trying to persuade me otherwise).
I feel the insurance claim industry needs to be more tightly regulated to crackdown on bogus or exaggerated claims.

My vivaro was written off last year when some young dick head was driving to fast whilst talking on his phone . He smashed straight into the back. !!
I still get phone calls 15 months later saying that 10 grand has been put aside  by his insurers  as compensation for my injures  .
However I was in my kitchen at the time. !
I've had over a 100 phone calls  it's total crap !

These parasites are a total nuisance! My advice is to purchase a Truecall device for your landline ( As seen on dragons den) and an iPhone, as you can immediately block calls from these fraudsters! They both work beautifully.......

I get a few of these calls each year, even though I have never needed to claim through an ins company! I can't help thinking these are dodgy businesses practices by the ins companies, who should know better since 2008 & PPI scandals.
