;D It would be funnier if half my clients and companies I work for didn't see the stupid email too! The amount of calls and texts I got was incredible!

Yes some twonk thought it would be a clever idea to tell my whole address book that I was attacked in Turkey, robbed and needed a £2,000 loan to get home or something like that.

A couple of people tried to resend it to me but it came up blank at my end  :-\ (maybe part of the hacking process) so don't know the exact wording.

How do you stop this from happening? the password I have for my email is pretty damn secure and I have anti virus on my laptop etc.

Are those paid for email addresses worth it? will it stop crap like this happening? Its happened to me once before.

Hello,

I am sorry for reaching you rather too late due to the situation of things right now.My family and I had a trip visiting (Turkey) everything was going on fine until last night when we got attacked by some unknown gunmen. All our money, phones and credit cards was stolen away including some valuable items, It was a terrible experience but the good thing is that they didn't hurt anyone.

We have reported the incident to the local authorities and the consulate but their response was too casual, we were ask to come back in 2 weeks time for investigations to be made proper,But the truth is we can't wait till then as we have just got our return flight booked and is leaving in few hours from now but presently having problems sorting out our  bills here and also getting a cab down to the airport, Right now we're financially strapped due to the unexpected robbery attack, Wondering if you can help us with a quick loan to sort out our bills and get back home. All we need is (2,800 £)  I promise to refund you in full as soon as I return home hopefully tomorrow or next. write back now to let me know what you can do.

Thank You.

Judging by the abominable use of the English language in the e-mail, I would have assumed that your clients realised that it was written by an illiterate and thus not to be taken seriously

Using poor English and grammar is all part of the scam, it's done for a purpose and very clever it is to.

I also had one of these I got attacked abroad emails this time the attack took part in the Ukraine . ::)roll on someone I know who was at the time, on the table next to me  :D
