WCW Sprayers
« on: June 03, 2014, 08:12:17 pm »
How long do these take to charge as there is no charge indicator on them.
Usually re charge at w/e and just leave overnight, last charge was probably 10 days ago and it ran out on me with just the h/w of a 3 bed semi left to do.
I don't want to leave it overnight on charge in garage as I just know I'll drive off without it in the morning.

I had a problem with mine a while ago, if you wiggle the charger plug that goes into the sprayer whilst its turned on you might get some joy, otherwise you will need it looked at

Sounds pretty technical that Stewart I'll see if I have the tools.....seriously though will try it.
Otherwise it looks as though battery is not charging...it works when plugged in.

sounds like you need a new battery if that is the case. I have had a couple of these for a few years and have had to change the battery in one of them.

Test your battery if you can and also try a deep cycle charge by taking it out of the sprayer.

I had to replace one last year, only about £20 if I remember right

We had being using the Sherpa sprayers, until the hose split, and the company don't do replacements, so purchased this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sprayer-Trolley-Battery-Weed-Sprayer-Watering-Unit-/201100541814?pt=UK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA&hash=item2ed286bf76

Hands down more robust, and battery life lasts ages and they do all replacement parts.  Great sprayer, and cheaper too!

Darren.....is it a good variable speed?
Is the lance and nozzles supplied ideal for carpet cleaning?

Spot on.  It has two speeds, plus a dial to turn the flow up or down.  I only keep iton the low speed as its more than enough for pre spray.  Comes with a stack of ends.  I cannot fault it.

One last question....is there a good seal where the top half fits the bottom....had to be v careful with WCW one as water would get into bottom half when filling.

Its spot on mate.  You will only need to keep it on low for spraying.  Cuts so much time with the manual pump.

I have the WCW one Darran same as your old one but it's hard to keep water out of bottom half due to top half fitting inside bottom half instead of vise versa.
Have ordered one of them though as at that price you can't go wrong plus need a new battery for WCW one.

It's a cracking machine.  I charged it Monday, still got two green lights on even today after stacks of carpets all week.

The ebay links to the same sprayer as Gardiners do, but cheaper.

I have a couple of these and they're good, but not as good as the WCW ones. The main criticism is that the lid is also the handle and this is prone to com off when lifting when full (feedback from others). The battery on the yellow ones is also smaller if I remember right, thus won't last as long between charges.

This is a good addition though: -

I don't lift it by the handle lid, it's also got a proper handle which is fine, which is also used to pull the trolley.  The battery life is a lot better than the Sherpa one.   Nevertheless it’s not a leisure battery.  Used it a few weeks and only charged it once and done carpets every day.  Machine is spot on for the price.

Anything has to be better than the manual pumps... flip me, you save so much time with these electric sprayers, especially on commercial carpets.
