Exhaust ?
« on: June 02, 2014, 11:53:56 pm »
I want to be able to lock my van up on some jobs but still have the machine running in the van with the side door locked? Anybody know where I can get the parts to make a exhaust to go through the floor of the van ?

You can use the flexi exhaust like this with clamp

But I've been down that road and your Yanmar needs clean air otherwise it'll be drawing in bad and your air filter will get caked in crap.

Leave door open and bolt your machine down, let your machine breathe.

I don't want to work like it all the time but every now and then you get one of them jobs where you need to park in the street and run the hoses through the house so you can't see the van ect. Would be real nice to lock it up and not worry about any of my equipment going for a walk. Where can I buy a flexi like the one in the pic from lee?

Have been thinking on the same lines as my van was broken into and 11k worth of equipment gone,,,, was looking at the rotating air inlets the dog vans have and the flexi pipe out to the street let me know how you have rigged your van

CES do them in all shapes & sizes.

Your machine and for that every machine needs fresh air. Find another way of securing your kit. Get mesh inner panels fitted.

Mine is left open all day, every day.

Agree with rob.

Nice big bolt and chain, it's not going anywhere

It's not the machine I'm worried about! It's all the other bits and pieces worth a fair bit that can be taken ie carbon gutter poles , gutter vac ,  £500 gutter cam , whirlaway  and lances ect. Think I might have a cage door welded into the opening of the side door

David, we work with our vans open, gutter vac, carbon poles worth well over a grand but no one ever gives the vehicles a second look and to honest I don't think anyone but another windy would know a pole is worth any money.

But if it's a worry then play it safe and take the appropriate steps for security, after it's your equipment not ours

I do mainly jet-washing but carry a expensive carpet cleaning machine , gutter vac and poles with camara . My carpet wand on its own is £400. It's just a worry that I could one day lose the lot because of me being careless with security! Think I might go and get a cage door welded to the inside of my van just to be sure
