hot box heating coil
« on: May 31, 2014, 07:06:00 am »

Discovered hot water running from van yesterday and a drop in pressure ::)roll fortunately I was able to complete my jobs, upon inspection noticed the water coming from the burner, I have a woodbridge Hercules so managed to take t/m out of van and remove coil from inside burner  .
The bottom of coil was wet  ,detecting the actual leak was a different story so I pressure tested the coil and found the leak, fortunately a clean  split and not corrosion so I am hoping the guy who does my maintenance succeeds in welding it.
If not successful does any body happen to know where the best place for sourcing coil ? , preferably used,  I cannot seem to find the actual type at the moment ,and I will try giving woodbridge a call again today  .
Here,s hoping

There's a place in sheffield that can repair them if you can't get it done.

Got a brand new one in my shed if you can wait until I get home from my hols, it's the full system not just the coil.

Thanks Shaun and mike ,
He managed to weld after shot blasting the whole coil, t/m fitted back in van yesterday evening ready to go.

But handy to know for future reference Shaun and Mike.
