Hey guys, I'm looking for some expert advice regarding changing to a hot system.

At the moment I'm using a normal cold-water system as follows: Water filtered at home to an IBC, transferred each evening to my 500L van tank, Shurflo pump and Varistream controller, 100m 8mm minibore, pole hose, tecbuk brush.

I'm thinking of buying one of these Corwoods heaters: http://corwoodswindowcleaning.co.uk/shop/window-cleaning-extras/E-Z-Heat-System

Does anyone have any experience of these? For instance, are they easy to fit, reliable, easy to control, etc? Or is there a different heater system that you would recommend?

Also, I'd be looking to buy a re-fillable gas cylinder. Are these readily available in Rep of Ireland, and where does one go to get it filled each time?

Lastly, would anyone know if there are any Irish legal requirements regarding carrying a gas cylinder in van? And would carrying gas affect van insurance policy?

so you will end up filling your van with potentially dangerous fumes, even with a door open its not enough ventilation, these heaters need to have flues fitted,

I would use something like the An Meny 8L heater that you can get on ebay.  Having use both the L5 and the An Meny I know which I prefer, the L5 cuts out regularly and leaves you working with cold.  As has already been said it has no flu attachment.

It only fire up when I'm not in the cab.
Never even smelt 'fumey' in the cab.
2 years use-not a headache or anything.
The fumes go right out into the atmosphere.
Flue for inside? Yes, a good idea if in a sealed room.
Not necessary in my van with the door open. As I have discovered.

As it happens, I am in the process of fitting one.
'Cause I've now got a job where I wanna keep the doors closed.
I only posted that it wasn't needed in the interests of balance.
I stated what I've done for nearly 10 years. 2 years with the L5 from Corwoods, and the rest using a Morco boiler. (But that worked better with a flue tbh)
Without any problems or issues.

I know this is an old post but winter is coming again. My fog wash is in the middle of my van and I don't use a flue. I'm sure you think that's bad but its never set my carbon monoxide alarm off ( I got one because I was concerned about the dog). The alarm does work because it hates when I have the side door of the van open with the power washer hooked up to my tank. The fumes must blow in.

Shhhhhh David...... Some people on here don't like real world experience and knowledge.

As long as the area is well ventilated then these heaters are totally safe.

had my l5 running for over seven years now,with the doors open,the odds would be at some time my carbon monoixe alarm would go off-nah never has done,the gas heaters are a personal choice,and i feel that some don't like them,thats fine
don't knock it until you have tried it.
they have there uses for many jobs and does make life a little easier on a daily basis,but again don't knock it until you have tried it,the amery's are very good too had a week or so trying these out,both the amery and l5 are basicly the same inside the guts of it all,
