Longest delay accepting a quote.
« on: May 19, 2014, 02:18:50 pm »
Quoted for a Terracotta clean & seal job last October (13). Sent me an email today accepting the quote and could I please fit her in a.s.a.p. as she has family coming next month. Might just make her sweat a little first ;D

This is a record delay for me, but I'm sure someone can beat it. Go on, what's your's?

Mine was about 12 months Adi, cleaned some carpets and whilst there noted travertine floor so quoted for that and it was 12 months, give or take a couple of weeks.  Had a few carpet quotes which have taken a couple of months to come back to me but usually get customers coming back to me after 2 or 3 weeks at the latest after a quote.

I'm sure we've all had jobs we've quoted for. The client has then gone with a cheaper quote and then a year or so later come back to us asking if we'd honour our earlier quote (as they've obviously decided that the job is going to be done right for the extra cost).

Think my record was about 14 months. the client was gracious enough to accept that after that length of time there would be an increase in the price to at least reflect inflation.

I did a few quotes over two years ago, and they haven't come back yet - so I've beaten the lot of you :-)

I got paid to clean two houses 4 years ago. The client had his own house cleaned but said he`d let me know when he wanted his mothers house cleaned. I completely forgot all about it until friday when I received an email from my client if I can now clean the carpets!! :o
