High pressure tape
« on: May 18, 2014, 11:17:11 pm »
Can anyone tell me the best high pressure tape I can get, just for emergency if the solution line had a small split just to get through the job, I have a box in my van that has lots of useful things in it from pins to jets, ptfe tape, scissors ect just for back up so if something goes wrong or I loos something on a job. In fact it would be good if anyone els has a similar thing maybe we could say what's in it to see if there could be more stuff added, I have loads in mine it doesn't take up much room and it has got me out of a sticky situation loads of times.

What pressure are you working at? If using a portable you could cut out the leak then insert a piece of copper pipe then use jubilee clips ( or radiator clips).

I don't think you can get a tape that would stop a leak

They have these two in the US, Nashua Stretch and Seal or FiberFix. How good they are I don't know.

It's purely for a very quick fix just to get through a job, just as a back really I'll look down b&q see what they have got.

Jubilee clip, put it over the hole and tighten, it stops the leak.

I carry more than one usually but I had emptied my van to put a water tank in and hadn't put it back in, that will teach me, I have a box with lots of back up bits in and just thought it would be good for an emergency.
