Hi. Was thinking about getting an Aqua Dapter. Thought it was £50, job done. No you need an adapter for Gardiner poles. Is this for the thread type? If you buy one of there goose necks, do you still need the adapter. Also will normal (Gardiner) hose do. Cant see it stretching that much. Going to attach a tap on pole at this rate

Duncan use a tap on a holster or Alex Gardiners method of holding the tap in your hand.
(Watch his video)
Its as handy and quick to shut a tap as it is to pull the pole hose. Plus no added pole weight.
The Aqua tap is also a no go for me as I don't want the brush touching the glass when switching off
the water.

That's runs the risk of splashing dirty water from the sill back on to the clean glass, not saying it
would but I wouldn't want to risk it especially on concrete sills.

here duncan,

A short video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRYqp4Ha4a8#t=21,

You do not have to rely, "in most situations" on brickwork, windows, cills to operate it

Also it is versatile to use at any angle "ie above conservatories or other awkward situations.

Steven.

Yes you can pinch the hose, that is an option, But is easier to use a valve.

It is very awkward to pinch hose and try and extend your pole, ive tried it, and its not long before you get fed up.

no-one has really answered his question here, we use both the aqua-tap and the aquadapter and they both have thier place, the aquadapter is a great bit of kit which many of us wouldn't be without, you will need the ally adapter for that last section of the modern gardeners poles it think they are around a fiver, as for using the pole hose, it is possible but as they work with push fit fittings you might want a insert (about a pound) imo use the hose that comes with the aquadapter

the adapter goes into the top section of pole where the goose neck goes in. then screw a/d onto it then angle adapter then brush.
YES you need another adapter for a/d to work with  goose neck.
gardeners hose is fine on my a/d. this adapter http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Aluminium-Pole-End-Screw-Type3-Alloy_Pole_Adaptor.html

Ok let me tell you how i've been getting on with my new slightly altered Aqua Dapter.

The main problems that myself & no doubt some others were finding with the Aqua Dapter MK3 XL was the fact it just didnt seem robust enough, particularly when being used with a gooseneck! The casing on two of my devices snapped in half within weeks and the internal springs had a habit of also snapping! Never the less i had no hesitation in continuing to use the Aqua Dapter as the customer service & aftersales i receive is quite simply superb & i had no doubt the correct improvements would be made for what is the best water saving device on the market for todays window cleaner .
So with over six months of daily usage, while attached to a 10 inch Gardiners gooseneck, these were my findings.....

1} No sign of any hairline cracks or evidence of splitting anywhere on the casing.
2} The internal spring mechanism has held firm & no replacement has been necessary
3} The Aqua Dapter wheel has stayed in place {This would occasionally fly off mid-flow}
4} Absolutely no stiffness or deterioration in the mechanism whatsoever
5} No leaks at all & the mechanism again works flawlessly at height.

Conclusion: The slightly altered Aqua Dapter MK3 XL is 100% improved, totally fit for purpose & after six months of regular use it still looks and feels like its just out of the box.

To the folks at Aqua Dapter - I Thank You.........
