whats in a name?
« on: May 14, 2014, 08:13:33 pm »
This happens to me every so often..............i dislike my trading name,  wcs proclean, (WCS Standing for window cleaning services.)
I was the same when i was plumbing.
I was the same when i was doing property maintenance
I was the same when pole dancing ;D

I always think everyone elses name looks and sounds better, i suppose it could be an inferiority complex..I just love Purple Rhino :)
I have always been against using my own name....Bob Rawlinson, as i think Rawlinson is a mouth full......deed poll i suppose would solve it ???

Does any one out there change there trading name on a regular or irregular basis and if so what effect can it have..negative or positive, is it advisable to change

All opinions welcome

You see i would have thought

RAWLINSON WINDOW CLEANING

would have had a touch of class about it.

As for changing names, your best bet is to ask south window cleaning dorset south norman & sons window cleaning and gutter cleaning services LTD

What's wrong with pro clean ?

I see nothing wrong with a name change as long as your new name/ image is going to be a strong and consistent 'brand'. So advertising, vans, paperwork, flyers are all similar

Are you a bob. Or Robert

Because I would have thought R.R. Cleaning ( done in a certain style ) would have been quite good

Darran
Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

A very bad idea to keep changing a business name! You need to choose a name and stick with it, chopping and changing is extremely unprofessional!

Hardest part of any business is building a good reputation more so with window cleaning as a lot
of new work comes from word of mouth.
So if you where to change your business name then any good reputation built on that name would
be lost also.
