Dog Pee (urine to the posh)
« on: March 28, 2006, 05:06:38 pm »
wool carpet - loads of dog urine stains - looks like they have been there a while and they are of varing shades of orange to white. Am I safe as I could be to say that you cant remove these type of stains especially as the customer has tried to  treat them previously and has set them. The wool carpet is a berber carpet and is not the best I have seen although only 3 years old in some areas the carpet has worn down almost to the backing - is this the norm or is it just a badly made / treated carpet. All the normall pre clean tests have been carried out with no suprises.

I have seen this a lot on wool carpets, and due to the nature of what dog pee is made up of, i would say no chance of removal. Same for dog sick.

Cat poo, last week, yes, dog pee no.

I am sure somebody with an in depth knowledgedc

I did one yesterday, wool twist, cream, full of set dog pee stains and heay traffic lanes, told the customer that i doubted theyd come out, presprayed with anti grease for the lanes and the whole lot shifted easily with some heat, wish id taken the camera, wouldve made a lovely before and after shot, id still rather clean clean carpets though ;D

Andy,

What product is anti grease and how effective is it? How old were the stains?

Ashbys anti grease is a prespotter/prespray for traffic lanes etc, ive had fairly good results with it, the customer reckons it was cleaned about a year ago but it was bad, incontinent chihuahua,p*ssed twice while i was there so you can imagine the build up, needless to say im busy the next time it needs doing,i didnt want it this time but stupidly felt sorry for her (near housebound pensioner), still you live and learn!!

Only had 2 dog p*issy capets...one was green, which was a blessing, and the other was beige...the beige one wouldnt shift...apparently, if they try and remove it with vanish or 1001...as they do...It'l turn green when you try to extract...they get p*issed off about it...but, hey..it's theyre own fault....for trying to remove it, and keeping a mut in the house! ;D....tell the owner to teach the dog to p*ss on the electric sockets...It wont do it again.
