I like my Saphire scientific the only problem I would say is getting the spare parts but apart from that imo the best low moisture tool available

  I picked up one of these  ,  its a CFR knock-off of sorts but perfect quality .
  Its 4"  .  Great for the price .

it is  ' made ' by distributer cal tools in the USA who like to clone things ... CFR in this case .
Metal made in Vietnam  ,  brass etc is usual American ,  hide a hose is hide a hose .
You will see it for sale in various places at various prices .

Cfr tool for me, I've had a sapphire and drimaster 1 & 2 but the cfr is more durable for a start and on delicate fabrics it is easier to control and the reason I went back to it is because it cleans deeper.

John, did you pay import duty on that?

I've had parts from USA before (as above) and not paid duty but when I bought a repair kit for my Bose speakers I paid around £15 for a £12 kit. Even at the price above.....import duty would still make that a good deal.

I got mine from a different ebay seller but same thing ...

The link shows Ebays global postal system ...  the prices for shipping and customs are shown , it then bypasses customs and gos straight to you direct having pre paid customs .

Yes its a giveaway at that price .

Alternatively  if you want it posted and risk it getting through customs ... you could get from the supplier ... i emailed before with a question about wands  and he says his website is not finished and some items are not on it ... so email to order anything .

The ebay global system bypasses all that Simon ...  at least it has on the three occasions i'v used it .   But like you say buy from your supplier it feel it keeps the industry going etc .

I do not understand the hype about cfr s. they are old technology now. Having tried several tools side by side do not see the attraction. Occasionally will get large volume jobs on upholstery, cinemas, 500+ chairs and the cfr is a clumsy heavy tool to use for long periods. You do get used to using tools and every one has its strengths and weaknesses, some are good for piping etc, the cfr is not anything special, well made and robust but if you do a lot of upholstery you need something light and user friendly.

I bought a Bosch lazer meaure a few weeks ago off ebay it was advertised at £57.99 but before I recieved it I had to pay a further £21.70 import duties and vat, so the figure advertised is not always the final cost
