Moving customers to GoCardless...

Hi All,

I've been using GoCardless for a while... I have a number of customers already setup on it and it works brilliantly.

From my experience though it seems like a lot of customers are put off signing up as they think its a monthly direct debit - I don't think they realise that payment is only taken after a window clean... I think this is an issue with some of my customers as I clean on a 7 weekly frequency.

With this is mind I have tweaked my GoCardless website page from:

www.iconicwindowcleaning.co.uk/directdebit

to this:

www.iconicwindowcleaning.co.uk/autopay

What do you think? It's only a subtle change but hopefully it will help to get more customers signed up.

I'd not worry too much about it. I have a dd mandate with their email address to be filled out. If they want to pay via dd they fill it out and I get them signed up.

I have 12 on dd. I get one or two a month go onto it. Its great. Problem payers who get constant reminders to settle their bill tend to see it and think that's a good idea I'll do that.

it nice Andy, just a small point, do you actually wait 5 days before YOU claim? We always claim ours after each clean and I beleive it actually debits the customers the day or two after you claim (not 5 days later) Sorry if you knew this already xx (do you have many on GC now? - As a small point I do not know if you use window cleaing software, but we use cleaner planner - and the go cardless integration feature saves us LOTS of time - just incase you might be interested)

Most of my customers on domestic pay on line, keeping track is becoming difficult.
I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.

There's no setup costs Steve, and it's only 1% per transaction, a £20 payment costs 20p etc.

Your explanation is excellent on your web eliminates any concerns .

How do you guys mention it to customers ? Do you say 'this is what we are doing now' or 'would you be interested in this payment option' ?
