This is a real can of worms, you sure you want to do this?

For what it is worth, as long as it is done correctly, ratchet straps are perfectly safe, despite what many on here are about to tell you

its a case of keeping my water tank frame,   or selling it,     and just getting some 5 ton ratchet straps to secure it to eyelets in van,  or securing it to the bulkhead

Thinking the same. Ratchet straps are safe for many tons on wagons, so we should be ok. Downside is, its not as neat. Straps may get in way.
Then again. No drilling van floor. Can be taken out quickly, so kids and dogs go in back 
If your using it for a few years, for nothing but its use. Drill away

what would i expect to be charged if i got a garage to bolt it into van floor, you will need plates under floor to secure bolts and tank.
  most of pics ive seen are all strapped in to eye lets on van floor,    or secured to bulkhead via homemade alliminium lats or ratchet straps.

did you need to supply anything daz,     or did you just arive with the tank and frame.    they supplied everything  to secure it.  100% safe

the garage made the spreader plates.the bolts for the van floor were supplied with the frame.they had to drop the fuel tank and exhaust to fit it securely!

im well happy with it.the way the tanks been fitted(long ways)i dont get any sloshing about or seasick feeling at traffic lights with half a tank of pure!

the tank and frame were bought from the cleaning warehouse and was delivered within 2 weeks.

Depends on the metal frame, if like dazmonds frame I'd rather have ratchet straps, but a proper metal frame is always better that straps

I have an angle iron frame (90 x 90 at the back. 75 x 75 sides and front) bolted through the floor to spreader plates and other bits of angle in certain places.

Then two 5 tonne ratchet straps wrapped around the (650L) tank "holes" three times each and tightened round the 90 x 90 angle.

The tank is against the manufacturers bulkhead.

Do you know where to get those parts from? Uses I'm thinking it wrong. Is it a 90degree bracket type that you bolt through the floor and  the ratchet to that?

Daz's set up would scare the pants off of me I'm afraid. It looks as if the whole tank is relying on a one inch lip on the front of the base to prevent it sliding forwards.

dave if it was in your van if would of slid forward and killed you by now!

the bottom frame is bolted down by 6 bolts through van floor with spreader plates.

the top 2 frames are bolted to the bottom  frame and sit tight around the top of the tank.

the tank sits inside the frame.the frame is 2 inches thick made of steel.it cant jump up over the edge!

simple really.the frame is heavy as well.

The tanks forward movement is only stopped by that lip - see what I mean?
