« on: April 17, 2014, 09:28:34 am »

Hi all, i'm looking for some advice, i've got a conservatory including roof to clean outside only and its minging not
been cleaned in years, so if possible i would ideally like to connect my SLX to the customers outside water to save
my pure to clean the conservatory roof, is it possible to buy a connector to connect the SLX pole hose male end to
a hozelock connector to the customers outside water. any advice appreciated.

Best Regards

Lal will you get much pressure off an outside tap ? You not got ya pump pumping water through, so I'd of thought the water will come out fairly slow 😣

i have the exact same connectors.fits on 6mm microbore no probs.

20m of extension hose on customers outside taps is A LOT MORE POWERFUL FLOW than a pump danny. :)
price higher/work harder!

Hi dannymack, the water pressure was very strong, so did the trick, just as well as i used a lot of mains water on it,
the customer was an old dear, she said the conny hadn't been cleaned for about 6 years+, once i got all the crap off,
finished it off with pure and it came up really well, she tipped me 25 euro, happy days.  :)

The reason I asked is I did a car port and connected my pole to the lady's hose on her outside tap.  The water trickled out so used me own pure system. Bloody took ages as it was green and a flat plastic roof. Hard work the sun was shinning and I was getting hot and bothered as I had so much to do and wasting sooo much pure water 😬

Hi dannymack, a few weeks ago i did a conservatory plus roof, it was minging not been done for a couple of
years at least, now i dont get that many conny roofs, so i'm a bit inexperienced with them, my tank was full
with 500 ltrs of pure, can you believe i just finished the conny and my water ran out, i used it all on the flipin
conny and i still had the house windows to clean, so i filled my van for an hour from the customers tap so that
i could finish her windows, lesson learnt, use customers water in future for conny roofs.
all so i'm still trying to get to grips with pricing connys and losing money on them, its easy to underestimate the work involved and they can be hard work.

Best Regards

Did my first car port the other week - was all set to use custy's tap and hose but he fitted a mixer connector with the twister to tighten it, didn't do it enough and soaked his cupboard where the outdoor tap was!!  So I had to use my pure water on it like you danny and it took aaaaages but looked fantastic.

Did my first conny roof yesterday - does anyone find it takes longer wfp than trad?  I used to stick my applicator on the end of an extension pole, scrub and scrub then rinse with their hose and it looked great.  When scrubbing with my wfp brush and then rinsing (oh the slow rinse on the shallow angled glass....) there are still many tiny specks all over the glass so it doesn't look clean like the normal windows do.

It did help that I was given a £5 tip, and they said they were very happy so maybe I'm being too fussy but I clearly don't have the knack for it yet - what should I be doing?

I may be misunderstanding which fitting you mean...
Do you mean the orange hozelock fitting in the picture?
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

hi don kee, yes the plastic orange connector that connects to half inch tap water feed and on the other side reduces to microbore hose as i'll put a female coupling in to match my polehose male connector?
