holes on van roof
« on: April 16, 2014, 07:21:11 pm »
has anyone any idea where i would get some rubber plugs or whatever you need to cover the holes in a van roof if  safety lights are removed.       there is a van 4 sale,     as i was about to go i looked up inside rear and noticed a couple of holes on the roof,   them lights have been removed and he has just covered with silicone.

 ???
decent van but a silly issue,      he is not taking his sign writing off ,    sold as seen he says.   plasterer.
id take it straight off    not advertise his work.

rubber plugs to cover holes or anything i could use

Just chuck a couple of grommets in the holes, any factors or dealers should sell them, just measure the hole, and tell em the size.

polymorph !
this stuff is great, can make so many things from it, and reuseable (you just pop it back in to boiling water and it melts down again to be re shaped )

Know anyone that could just weld something to cover it?
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Hi Johnny. Did you get the van holes sorted? I've just seen some 'Tap Hole Stoppers' in Tool Station less than a quid each and in white. I'm sure that Wickes, B&Q or other builders merchants or plumbers should have something suitable for you.

ive made him an offer,     regarding having to take his signage off myself,  plasterer.      all over van.
8 small holes in roof,  removing his sh.. job of big blodges of silicone,
smart a..e,  attitude take it or leave it.

he should have it all ready.

the vans still on his front, 2 weeks after advertising it.
theres better out there,no messing needed

The reason why he didn't remove the signage was that he could take some of the paint off with it. When you do it after buying it, it then becomes your problem and cost to rectify.

I would never consider a van that hasn't had the signage removed as a respray could cost more than the van is worth.

buying a van , you can be blinded by the good bits,   you try not to think of finding bad points,

i am now too thorough,     maybe too picky.       theres plenty out there,     one waiting 4 myself.  hopefully one i can keep for years with little worry
