As i say guys , big thanks to you for the method statements , risk assesments and canvass letters , they definately work well !
You may have read in previous posts that i had work in the pipeline waiting to be given the go ahead , well its all just come good , and i have to say they were all most impressed with the literature provided .
All in i got a 7K and a 1K contract , may not sound a massive ammount , but when you think it came from 4 posts on here , and 1 cold call and 3 letters , totalling about 30 minutes work , thats good i think !
It should take around 20 days over the year to do it all , that i can live with.

 Thanks again for all your help , oh and before i go does anybody have a nice invoice to send me so i can charge them !

Still 7K is better in my pocket than his  
And besides , i know who im looking out for , thats gotta help on the self defence front !
I feel a bit naughty but i did not undercut as far as i am aware , the boss man said his standards had slipped over the year he was doing it , and he had still not submitted his insurance or risk assesments .
In my eyes he was a gonner anyway , i was just in the right place at the right time for once .

yeah i wouldn't worry about it, all's fair in love and window cleaning! at least you know what he looks like. i wish i could have a 7k contract, hopefully in the next 6months i'll be trying to win this type of work. anyway have fun cleaning those windows and try and keep your head on

Do you have microsoft excel its been made in that program if you havent got that you wont be able to open it.

Ha Ha    If you have Works that means you must have it MICROSOFT WORKS includes Microsoft excel if you go to the email ive sent you it should be there somewhere normally under where it says subject youll see attahcment Invoice then just click that

Try right clicking on the program (you were sent)

In the grey box with options that come up - highlight "open with"

New grey box comes up.

Look for Microsoft excel.

If you can't see it go to the bottom and click "choose program"
 
Run down that list until you see excel.

If you can't see it you ain't got it.

I use excel Invoice templates too - just drag in your own logos etc.  If you need a copy just yell.

have you tried opening in word, it might work, just athought otherwise some one will have to copy and paste it in word for you and then send it to you as a word doc

If you're trying to open an exel file with M/S works you cant  they are essentially the same format but have different file associations
an exel file ends *.xls whereas works files have a different one something like*.wks

So it wasnt me being a plank then , its ok as i have gotten one elswhere , just might be a bit of poop hittin the fan about it !
