Hi chaps,

Got a large PW  job at a school next week,

I currently use 3/8 2 wire hose which is ruddy heavy, some of the upcoming work is off the ground ( canopies etc.. ) I thought I might get 30 mtrs of 5/16 single wire as is much lighter, the rating is higher than the PW but I wondered if the smaller diameter would effect the performance out of the lance ?

What size hose do you guys use?

5/16" is fine but I use 3/8" with 15m of 1/4" on the gun end - I have 65m in total on the reel.

It's light and really flexible but just the last length

I use a similar set up to BDCS.

I use 3/8 as standard,  but when I need extra length I'll take a 5/16

Most jobs have been small enough that I have just about reached with 30 mtrs, or shuffled the PW over a bit

So going to add 20mtrs of 5/16 diameter

I always struggle with the thinner hoses curling up even with a swivel on the lance. As soon as the pressure washer gains pressure you can see it try and curl.

I've run 2 x 200 metres of hose lengths. Try pulling that around a car park, without releasing the pressure.

Can I ask which supplier you use for the hose please ?

When working at higher levels there's usually a place to secure the first length of hose (or whichever depending on distance). Just do this with enough spare length to attach othe lengths easily. Doing this means your not fighting against any weight at all.
