Trying to remove the resi neck from an SLX today, found it to be seized (as normal). Using brute force and ignorance we managed to snap the head off it, so we now have a pole section with about an inch of Resi-neck hanging out of it - stuck as fast as if it were Araldited Anyone any idea of how to remove the damned thing? I'm close to cutting it flush and drilling it out but if there's an easier way, I'd like to know.
Fortunately I had a spare pole section (we were cleaning my house when it happened, luckily enough) so that's now on. In a bid to stop the Resi-neck seizing again, I put a smear of Copaslip on it before fitting - hoping it'll stop the seizures in future and, not being oil-based, shouldn't damage any bonding agents in the carbon fibre. I'll post on whether it works long-term.
Any ideas welcome (throwing the section off a cliff is high on the list at the moment).
