took my machine to a local repairer, they have had it two weeks and have given it back to me still not working. they say that they got the new pump working but can't get water to come out , they say they have checked the obvious i.e. hoses etc but can't work out the problem.

 any ideas anyone?.

the pump is a surflo and i am told that i might be able to fit a new end bell to it as a repair, any advice appreciated.

Lets start with a basic rule of thumb: 

1.  A "new" pump either works; or it does not, period. This is especially true if it was tested prior to replacement installation. (something we always do in the manufacturing of any item/model because this will eliminate any  variables)

2.  You may want to inspect the quick disconnects:

(a)--- making sure that they are not clogged; or are in good condition.
(b)--- make sure all QD's are of and from the exact same manufacturer. The Chinese knock-off's for example are not compatible with the USA made brands in most cases. Therefore, will not engage water flow.

In the end, this should be a simple one to resolve by a knowledgeable repair shop, or the Operator.

I have never had a problem with a sureflow or a flojet that I can remember in 24 years and as Edd has corectly said it either works or it does not ! Pumptec well thats a dfferent matter but a whole lot more complicated!

If I was you I would check your intake filter to see if its clogged? Then the pipe  that leads to the pump and then the pipe that goes away from the pump to the brass femail fittings and then of course the fitting itself  cant be much more you can check realy as long as the diaphram in the pump is ok and the
Check valve and popetts are ok and have you tried the preasure switch if it has one ?

i agree with whats been said re the pump, it either works or it doesn't.
i think the qd is an original so is there a compatible one available from a uk supplier ?.

they told me that they siphoned water through the pipe from the clean water tank so i am inclined to think it may be the qd.

i am going to order a new pump so my question is can i put any 240v 100psi pump in the machine and can anyone recommend a supplier .

Thanks, Stuart, for those additional suggestions.

Side Note:  Check ALL QD's, including the ones on the hoses and tool. In addition, also make sure the valve on the tool is working properly (ex: internal o-ring)

This may be a daft question , but have you tried using an open bleed tube first ?

Try taking the quick connect off the front of the machine and then run the pump, I have had some in the past that just stopped working.

I had one on the front of my Jag that kept leaking Air, it needed bleeding every ten mins until I changed it
