Ok, a new one on me. I have tried to get in touch with Paul Pearce for this question to him but I havent been able to get in touch with him..... I tried Paul as he has helped me out before......anyway..... I have had a call from a designer who's customer has just had a new carpet fitted. This customer wants me to protect the carpet and then to maintain it, problem is it is made of paper and I for one havent seen one. I know they exist just dont know how to protect them or maintain. If any one can help in this matter I would be grateful. I will try  to find out from the makers of the carpet how to do what but dont want to at the moment. I would rather go to them having just worked on a textile of theirs so use it as an introduction. Thanks in advance, best, Dave.

When I did the woolsafe course Julie from Chemspec showed me a piece of paper carpet, it might be worth contacting her for info

Would appear to be protected already and seeing that it has water proof properties possibly just towel off but that is just a guess

The only paper carpet I have seen was when a customer decided to put loads of newspaper down to stop the the dog tinkling directly onto the carpet. The only recomendation I could give was to use an upmarket rather than a tabloid newspaper as he would'nt need so many to cover the same area.

Joking aside how did you get on with this Dave?

I can remember Paul touching on it a few years ago when I went on one of my IICRC courses, dry fusion was the new thing then and he recommended that but as he said he had not tested it yet, so a low moisture clean or a Host dry granular clean only thing with that is well it affect the pile?

Well, well over a thousand miles later and I am still none the wiser...... Actually not really, I have taken off cuts from both jobs and will do my own tests as to protecting with what and cleaning with what. The carpets I was surprised look very nice indeed, most unusual but then so are most of my clients...... Just for the record or at least mine,  Shaun I wouldnt use dry fusion on anything let alone such a textile as this!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers for now, best, Dave..... P.S. no Arthur I wouldnt use a CFR machine either.....
