Another Groupon
« on: March 25, 2014, 06:11:06 pm »
Had a call today to check out Essex Groupon, there's a company doing three rooms for £29!!!
What i don't understand  is how they are making any money? After diesel / chemicals and Groupons % which I hear could be 40 -50% ???
I know i should not worry what anyone else is doing but these rediculous offers don't do anyone any good and just devalue the industry as a whole.
What with this and the ridiculous half price leaflets coming through my door it just makes me wonder when its going to stop! We will be paying the customer to clean their carpet before too long.

I just tend to laugh at them tbh. In 12yrs I have never rang another company or checked out low prices in general - could'nt give a dam as I'm not interested in them.

Let them get on with it I say!

A few years ago me and my partner had one of those brain storming sessions , as work was a bit down .

so he suggested doing any two carpets for £30 , which we did.

This was at 12:30pm Tuesday by the power of facebook by 2:30pm we had 7 jobs booked for the next day .

roll on  to Wednesday at 1pm my mate has lost the plot and has made me stop the van on a duel carraige way .then said f*** this im off home  and started walking home , i found him half an hour later slumped on a bench .

The quantity and distances and different people you have to please makes for way to much stress.

Out of seven that day we only completed two , good luck to them groupon lads

The only deals like this I have bought have been with resturants, you always end up paying extra, you might want extra side orders or the deal is'nt on the full menu so to have the chocolate soufflé you have to pay extra, drinks are never included.

Groupon ( travelzoo etc) Hotel deals give you a cheap room but you end up eating in the resurant and buying over priced Drinks in the bar, you can't book the busy weekends only the slow mid week,  they always get more money out of you.

It's about add ons to create the profit, our business does have the extras needed to make the deal worthwhile.
