[Deep Cleaning Solutions]

Anyone tried this?

I normally use Prochem chems, which I really rate, but for a change tried some Craftex stuff.

We did a hotel carpet clean the other day, bedrooms full of the usual coffee, wine stains where Mr and Mrs Smith have rushed to get into bed  , or maybe it's just my mucky mind!

Anyway I was using the Craftex Coffee stain remover trigger spray for the first time and thought blimey that smells strong and before long I was coughing and spluttering. One of my workers came in and said what the hell is that smell and he had the same problems even though he was in the room next door. The owners even mentioned it! and I noticed other staff coughing!

By the end of the day I felt a bit ill from it and my chest felt awful.

Has any one else used this and had the same problem.

Yes and no, Sod met based, very good but very potent.
Always have the area well ventilated, though I find it very
rare to use enough to clear my sinuses. I've removed a
dustbin lid sized beetroot stain with it.

There are 2 common types of coffee stain removers. Sodium Metabisulphate based and Acetic Acid based. The Sodium Met ones work better in my opinion. They do stink but do the job. Only apply enough product to get the result. If you need to allow to dwell on bad stains cover with a square of polythene untilmyou extract out. This will help prevent the the odour permeating the whole room.

So does The Sodium Met completely remove coffee or tea, even scorching hot coffee or tea once spilled and left to dry on carpet?  Also is it safe on all carpets?

I find the Chemspec tea/coffee/ browning remover works very well and is just over £7 a gallon

But does it remove it completely even scorching hot coffee/tea once dried?

Depends what the carpet is made from darren ? You have less chance of removal if its wool you have to suck it and see mate

Lol... We do a lot of sucking.  Never been able to remove from wool carpers hot coffee that's been left.  Got it a lot lighter, but never removed.  We can remove it from carpet tiles no problem. Dynamall works a treat on coffee even on wool carpets.  Makes it very, very faint.

Depending on the temperature of the coffee or tea it can be a permanent stain. Red hot on wool carpet then it can be extremely difficult to remove, If its been sitting for a while then usually comes straight out. Also don't forget some stains will have had everything under the kitchen sink on them so always flush with clean water before you attempt stain removal.

....and don't forget to be VERY careful if you're going near a dark coloured carpet as it can easily leave a bleach stain.
