Has anyone any good ideas on how to sell cleaning without having to spend a fortune on advertising.
I am having an editorial done in a week or so. I am in yellow pages, but most of the enquiries I get fizzle out when I tell them how much I charge (which isnt too high).   I dont want to get into the splash and dash end of the business but I aint getting very much work.

A constant stream of leaflets being delivered is the only way to go.  I have been in this business nearly 2 years now and since Oct 2005 I have had a constant 20,000 leaflets delivered every month.  I have worked 5 days most weeks, 6 days some weeks and 7 days per week in December 2005.

I am currently a little quiet because my leaflets have not been delivered for the past 2 weeks.

Leaflets is the only way to go for a good stream of domestic work.

Mike ,

You have a good Advert.

Perhaps you need to sharpen up your call answering skills and draw the customer in more.

Ideally you should go and give an in House qoute but tis is not always easy to acheive especialy if you do not answer the phone yourself.

Regreatably my wife is letting to many get away.  And I am having to review procedures.

Telephone selling both in bound and out bound is a skill just

like Carpet Cleaning  The Window Companies have a high turnover of staff not because they do not want the job but because they cannot convert interest into an appointment.

I was told by a Salesmanager once that only 3% of people have the right personallity to succeed in this field.

Why anyone is not answering their phone is a mystery to me..........you can get call divert from your land line to your mobile and never miss a call again............

I even take calls in Spain, why not, it only takes a few seconds to log a number, or pass on someone elses number, if you can't do the job.

Of course it costs money, but it makes a lot more than it costs.

Divert and never miss a call again.

I'm even happy to have my 0800 diverted and pay the additional charge for the 0800 to landline to mobile.

I have had all my calls diverted to my mobile for over 6 yrs now, and would not have it any other way. Where i do draw the line is tacking it on holiday are we mad, sad, or both. So there we are by the pool could be Spain, Greek Islands,
Mrs Smith from back home calls ( Dont forget you pay for the call ) dogs been sick on carpet, you would be on the first plane back to deal with it wouldnt you
 ;D ;D ;D i dont think so.

Hi Guys,

Like John I'm on divert but my phone stays in the glove compartment at the airport , while my wife's is taken for any emergency calls.

When I'm away I divert to an answering agency , so when I get back I have a list of people to ring.

cheers

Not being a skinflint, the cost of the calls does'nt bother me and I don't prop up bars or lie around in the sun...............

I am involved in three businesses and will always divert one of the lines to my phone, no matter where I am...........

I'm in the business of turning peoples lives around and greatly improving their quality of life.........you can't put a price on that and it's easy to run ' silent ' when the occasion demands.

I also spend a lot of time in Spain

Have a nice Spring  rob m
