Hi guys, my first pressure wash today,     dont mention gx90s.

i use a loncin 16 lpm, 13hp, 3600 psi  loncin washer ,  from terry at Jetmac.

Great using it today,   using it for about a couple of hours,    i did turn it on and off a few times while waiting for my water but to refill. 
anyway       a couple of minutes after i powered back up for the last time.     it just stopped.
waited a few minutes and re started back up again.

Then  the pressure stopped, seemed to be strugling, it come back on and off.

what do you think the main reason is for this.
it was working great up untill then,   luckilly it happened just as i was rinsing down thankfully.

it would have been a nightmare if it happened halfway through the job.

he was very impressed with my work and set up he gave me an xtra £20.

this sometimes happens,  i will need to get this sorted out asap,    ready for next jobs coming in.

i didnt have enough capital to purchase a honda gx390 when i began looking into pressure washing as an add on.

Might seem a stupid answer but if the machine cut's out whilst warm/hot, check your oil level, might be a bit low so oil pressure switch cutting in and shutting it down to avoid damage.

cheers roger,       as i say it was fine all day,    1st time its happened,    its only been used about 5 cleans last year,

it only turned off once,     then when i powered it back up again to finish off,      there was no pressure when i tried using the lance,     pressure washer was still powering up,     when i pressed the lance it wouldnt power water out.     it sounded like the pressure was reving up and down,    it sprayed out a couple of times but had to wait for it to use my lance to rinse.
will it maybe be the unloader valve , ill check out if anyone local can have a look at it up close working.

as i say its only done around 5 jobs. last year,      today was the first time its been out.
its a bit daunting when its newish.

Does the engine sound normal..running ok .Just no pressure?

Check the inline filter at the pump side of the intake pipe, if that's blocked, you could get problems, also air getting in somewhere.

yes it runs fine,    it was reving up and down,  the sound it makes when your using lance    on and off.there was pressure to use the lance then not,      ill check the inline filter 2morrow.

its always the case when something goes wrong and you dont buy from a dealer in driving distance.    if faults occur

You'll learn this time and have a good clue next time it happens - there are no dealers in Kent (that I would use) so I have to be self sufficient.

would you believe it,     every spanner i have not one fits the y piece to check the inline filter.

started it up , runs fine.
as soon as you use lance ,  it cuts out.

dont want to cross thread the nut.

 
ill take it to kwik fit up the road     to loosen nut and check it   then tighten the nut again.

all the spanners i have as well.

That don't sound like a water issue - it sounds like a blocked jet in the carb if it cuts out when you ask the engine to work. Are all the governor springs on ? I am quite confused as to the exact fault is now

UP and down noise? ...surging?.
Load a you-tube video so we can see it not working...we need sound too.

are you saying that the gx390 i bought from him might be a fake ? or were you referring to other models he sells that are actually made in china ?.

checked inline filter,    clear,
started it  up again,      pressed lance on, it cut out again,  no nozzle on lance.         i  fitted turbo nozzle onto lance it was fine.    pressure washed for 15 minutes releasing lance on and off,    it seemed fine.

surelly it wasnt a fuel problem.       its been stored since aug last year, with fuel left in tank,      i added more fuel when on the job yesterday.
im going to do my own driveway tomorrow.

i did turn it on and off a few times while waiting for water butt to fill up.    would that have an effect on it.

Ok, lets be clear here,

When you say you started it up again, and pressed the lance and it cut out, do you mean the engine cut out? or the engine kept running but there was no water coming out the lance?

No the engine will be good ....it's everything else,pump,gearbox,lance,flat surface cleaner....some of the unloaders are suspect too.

As long as you don't cry ..if it's not what you want to hear. On the side of the engine block it should have gx*** cast into it. Loncin will have Loncin stickers...nobody copies those( to be fair Loncin engines are ok)
