Help please - Best tool for agitation
« on: March 07, 2014, 09:17:41 am »
Hi everyone, im new to the world of carpet cleaning (yes I know not another newbie you will say )  and have been doing my research and training but there is one thing i'm unsure about.  What is the best machine for agitation?  At present I have the cheapest option, a trusty old pile brush.  Hard work but seems to do ok on most of my jobs which are small domestic jobs.

Going forward though im wanting to look at commercial / EOT etc which will no doubt involve some minging carpets so what machine would be best?  Would the pile brush still be OK or would my arms just end up dropping off with no decent outcome?

I know everyone has different ideas / views and I look forward to hearing them.  Thanks for your time

Martin, you'll get a fair few differing opinions on here - but for my input, you will need more than one option to cover a variety of situations (e.g. domestic/commercial).

More constructively: the Sebo Duo is not much use - stick with the brush for now.

a crb such as a host machine or tm4 are the best. They lift the pile, pull all sorts of crap out and get rid of most of the stains. This makes the extraction process much quicker and effective. They are not cheap but they last and make all the difference to the results.
