gx270 power a bit low and starting without choke
« on: March 05, 2014, 06:04:44 pm »
hi

i've got a gx270 5kva genny that i use with my 3kw gutter vac. i thought it was maybe running a bit low on power so i checked it with a clamp meter and it's producing 2 amps less than the mains when running my vac. the genny although it seems to run fine, starts without choke even when cold, so i'm guessing it's running a bit rich?

so are these two things likely to be linked, would the genny running rich be enough to make it low on power? and if yes does anyone know what i have to adjust?

thanks in advance

Should be a light tan colour ...black/sooty indicates running rich. Check the choke switches all the way off.....Has the throttle stop screw backed off (visible from above look down between airfilter/exhaust ...+ head screw with a coiled spring to prevent movement)
