so guys what do you use day to day?
ive been using standard thermobore for 2 years now.its heavier than standard microbore and slightly thicker due to reinforced walls.i had no problems using it with cold until i started pumping hot water through it then it blew a few days ago as most of you know!binned now.
anyway i had some spare brand new standard microbore on a cheap claber reel and WOW!WHAT A DIFFERENCE in manageability!its almost like pole hose.very easy to drag around and loop together which lets face it is a big part of our working day.
i have lots of days where i only move the van 2 or 3 times in a day and use almost all of the 100m length.
id got used to the thermobore then switching to microbore was like going from an SLX to an extreme pole!its a joy to use and flow rate is still good.
i think the problems i had with hot water were mainly due to heat and pressure building up.sometimes it was taking 20 seconds to turn the pump off after turning off the water at the brush end.no matter what i did with the calibration. i couldnt solve it.
ive heard analogue dial controllers are easier to set the cut off.can you get them and fit them to a pumpbox?as thats what i use with a digital controller.
in my next van im still thinking of having 2 fitted hose reels.one with microbore for cold water used most of the time and my heavy duty reel with thermobore plus for hot water for very cold weather, first cleans and add on jobs where i have no access to outside taps.
if i could solve the pump cut off problem then hot water could still be an option but only used occasionally where i think it would be beneficial.thus cutting down on gas expenses.
normal day to day maintenance window cleaning would then be cleaned with the easy light microbore and cold water.then for a real dirty job i could easily just plug the heater and hot reel in,in mins.
ill be getting a van that will easily fit a 500L upright tank in so there will still be plenty of room for 2 reels, heater and gas bottle plus all my usual trad stuff, poles etc.
