As far as i know, i have not lost any customers due to another window cleaner undercutting me, but i have been subjected to what i would describe as mind games, or possibly intimidation tactics, and that was by someone on here.
At the house i was cleaning, because of the layout, although my van was parked in the driveway area, it was parallel to the street with just the width of the pavement and a small embankment between my van and the road (8' max). The window cleaner in question parked on the street right beside my van and started canvassing!. Now i have absolutely no problem with the canvassing part, it is a free country (even though i personally would not canvass on a street i knew another window cleaner worked on), but it really bothered me that the guy parked where he did. There was no reason to park there, other than to make a point, or play silly bugger. The house i was at was not at the end of the street, and nowhere near the middle, which would be the obvious place to park if canvassing (same distance to walk either way). It just goes to show that different window cleaners have different ideas on what is 'acceptable behavior'.
