I know these come up every now and then. But I'm looking to splash out about £1000 on a pressure washer and some kit? What kind of set up can I expect to get? What brands should I avoid and what performance figures am I looking at?

i just bought a honda gx390 with inter pump on a wheelbarrow type frame with 20mtr hose , lance with quick release set of nozzles plus turbo nozzle and an 18 inch rotary cleaner for £1750 inc vat and delivery.

 the lance doesn't seem to be as good a quality as the one i owned previously which was a nilfisk alto twin lance which i bought whith a second hand poseiden machine which i wish i had kept.

My best purchase on fleebay so far to date regarding pw kit was a cobra pressure washer (Honda GX340 gearbox driven 15lpm interpump) in brilliant condition for only £250 inc 30m of hose. It's ideal for me for domestic work and more than paid for itself on its first job.

My second best purchase so far to date was a hardly used lavor valcano hotbox for £450.

How do you find the volcano? Hot enough for gum ect?

It's a 2l lpm boiler so can get really hot and even hotter when the flow is reduced but never tried it out on gum as commercial stuff is not my thing to be honest.  But I'm sure one of the other lads like blasterway would know.

Forgot to mention that £250 washer also came with a decent 18 inch whirlaway too.
The wife of the seller listed it as a steam cleaner by mistake so no one bid on it until I did at the last min.

Im a NEWBIE  so what do I know  ... but don't look powerful enough ... everyone told me last year Honda gx390 with interpump 250psi @ 15 lpm as a minimum ... im starting back up PW again in next few months and prob going for above spec or higher if I can afford it

I think 15lpm+ is the general consensus, but im a noob. done a fair few drives and various surfaces now with mine though and not come across anything i cant shift yet touch wood.

I got by with 15 ltrs for years but I wish I had gone to 21 earlier than I did. A petrol 15 to diesel 21 was the best thing I did for results and fuel savings
