no wand van ??
« on: February 17, 2014, 07:04:11 pm »
one of my cleaners just cant get away with using wands and hates them so I was thinking do we need them in his van

he uses either a r.d.m. or a rx 20 then edges up and does door ways and any bad bits with a extra large extracta handtool or any of the other four we carry

as he said

if you cant get in using a rdm the you cant get a wand in the space so your down on your kness using handtools which I can see his point what do you think do you realy need to carry a wand this day and age ??

It can't do any harm having a wand on board! can it?
It's not like it's going to take up much room.

Anyway it could come in handy, ie flood work or if you have an emergency leak/spillage ect.

Isn't a rotary and handtool edge work a bit OTT if its just £15 per room cheap type work ... ?
I'd imagine a wand would be quicker  ?

I am of the opinion that if my guys get the desired results, remain productive and the customer is happy they can work however they want.

We have loads of kit at our disposal and some prefer certain bits of kit to others.

As long as the above boxes are ticked let them do it their way.

That is very judgmental John... are you saying that just because they charge £15.00 per room that they should not do a good and thorough job??

Perhaps Hector  ...  I was just thinking of speed  ,  if they are are charging 80 per house as stated and employing the expense of  a man and expensive gear to do it ... the he would need to have the house done in about hour ?
Im thinking of him negotiating bedrooms and awkward areas and having edges to to then ... when a wand , perhaps not a huge cumbersome one could do all at once .  Also i see some of the Americans adding a premium for RX20 work over a wand so high quality work but potentially slower .

No electric, or sensitive fuse boxes and the RDM is useless.

Of course you don't. Also you can ditch that spare tyre you carry around, you never use it.

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

we don't carry them at all any ways why would you ??? to lift a truckmount full of water with a side jack is mad ness let alone lying under it with a rubber hammer trying the knock the alloy wheel off because its never been off is just nuts

every truck mount we have run with rdms and rx20s in its the way a want them to roll weather were cheap or not doesn't mean your gear as tobe cheap and looked after they will last years like my 30 year old extracta model c it could go out and earn tomorrow if it had too  ;D

never had a rdm trip a fuse box but your right what happens if it does , mike its worth carrying a wand just for that reason
