Why 5million
i thought unemployed was between 2-3 million which according
to official figures in december numbers had fallen to 1.25 million
who were 18+ claiming jobseekers.
so if 50% are long term unemployed thats anyone who has been
unemployed for 27 weeks or more thats only just over 600,000
or for arguments sake the real long term unemployed (years)
say take off another 50%,so 300,000 shouldnt be so hard to organize.
If you want to save real money why not get rid of working tax credit
child tax credit that is given to millions of people who are in poorly
paid jobs which we have to subsidise by us because no one forces employers
to pay decent wages.
.
Funny how we point the finger at the bottom, maybe we would be better
pointing fingers at the top where all the real bottom feeders and skim
off the top oddbods are.
They also are a small section of society but hold most of the wealth
and are not inclined to share and are extremely succesful at getting
the vast majority fighting over the leftovers
Just a thought
Well said Garry.
But there are at least 5 million unemployed, the government has crafty ways of making the figures seem lower.
Example if you are long term sick then your not classed as unemployed but might not have worked for years.
Also there are a lot of people underemployed 10 hours or less a week, these also don't count on the list but are
still getting benefits.
yes i know and some of that 5 million are on disability etc
i know figures are messed about with but i was using the actual
just unemployed figures to show a point.
It never fails to amaze me how they succeed in getting us fighting
amongst ourselves.
people moan about benefits but nearly half of the welfare state goes
to pensioners more than three times goes to the working in tax credits
alone compared to unemployed benefits and that doesnt include housing
benefit,free prescriptions etc. Its shocking
Isnt it about time we stuck together and forced the issue and tried to
get back to trying to achieve 100% employment with the emphasis
on whats in the working man or womans paypacket rather than the
dividend that the major shareholders going to get.
im sure they would be only too happy to make do on only a slightly
smaller piece of the pie
