Three years out of my first pair.  Still waterproof when the red heel insert collapsed.  Soles still looked pretty much as new.  Warm and dry all the time.  Steel toecap, steel plate in arch of foot for those odd pieces of wood with nails in that your customers love to leave down the side of their house. So comfortable and warm that I wear them to walk to and watch football (5 mile round trip).  Utterly, utterly brilliant when paired with army issue double-knit sole socks (I choose black):

Fiver a pair if you buy three or more pairs.

I've recommended this combination many times in the past and I don't think anyone has ever taken my advice, so I offer the idea more in hope than expectation.
