im goin six weeks now guys @ wfp and ive had only 1 complaint which wen i called back was minor! my technique is fairly decent i reckon
 
however a couple of things bothering me -

1. im using 40/50 litres of water per house....im overcleaning i think. Yes ive a valve on pole to start/stop water flow

Take for example a typical window with 2 small sahes on top andf two bigger panes on bottom,  currently i clean all frames and rinse frames, then i clean top 2 sashes glass nd leave to drip dry and go clean other windows. is this proper practice or in theory if im cleaning correctly should i be able to clean whole window in one go?! longwinded explanation but necassary


2. On the very odd occasion im getting a run down a window which is drying on dirty, barely noticable but at the same time i notice it and it aint good enuf ( very odd but it happening here and there). it is quite clearing water dripping from the frame above but on some windows if i was to wait for the frame to dry and stop dripping id be there for 2 hours

3. the lid on my tank is leaking. Initially i taut i was coming out thru vent but ive fixed that and its still leaking. its a slight drip when tank is full but enuf to wet the whole place at same time

Yes you are over cleaning,everybody will when they start. You can expect to half that after 6 months. Carry on as you are, then once the windows have been cleaned a few times you will "know" whats gonna dry fine and not

Get rid of excess water on sills with brush (water off)

Then fit a connection to fill tank? Hozelock?

on point 1 there mate , with my example of the window...would u clean it same as i have mentioned or wud u clean whole thing in one go

I clean like you do, others say you dont have too, but i like my way, as i can see the water draining off.

I'm 5 weeks behind you at wfp (7 years trad) and probably am using the same amount of water per house!  The way you clean was also highly recommended to me and that's how I was working today.  It is pretty demoralising finding those spots and streaks but could happen for the first couple of cleans of my 150 customers so I have a tough couple of months ahead of me, hopefully followed by many years of clean windows and higher profits.

I have a ball cock in my tank so it can't get full - I haven't yet worked out how much capacity I'm effectively losing in my 500L tank, which is important at the moment, considering how much water I'm wasting!

When you're rinsing, do you always get a sheet of water flowing down for you to follow with your brush, or does it sometimes make lots of rivers and rinsing then takes ages?  Panes right next to each, one could sheet, one could river, and even if I scrub and scrub the one that rivers thinking it's still dirty, it still does it.  I'm thinking it's just one of those things, but rinsing takes a lot longer when the water rivers.

Tom OCD springs to mind , Providing you have cleaned all the frames really well and given them a good rinse which you have then on a rare occassion you will get the odd minor run down the middle .

I simply run the brush over the top of the frame and give a quick rinse across the top and in between the  2 top openers , Then do rest of frame and give sill a couple of passes over with brush then clean glass never had a call back after my first 6-8 months .

CBWC Hydrophillic is glass were the water sheets Hydrophobic is glass were the water beads both take the same amount rinsing . Mike

I get exactly the same thing mate but as the lads say i think its down to the different types of glass. There a couple of good vids on youtube giving a demo of cleaning both types

Wat i find mate even on the glass that rivers , give a slow rinse twice across top of pane. Its gets ball rolling nd then just chase down promptly

Cheers mate. Im prob bit ocd with it at the mo but i dont want to lose custies for poor workmanship. In theory i like wat u say and im goin to try start doin it thst way and see results because its far more time efficient and wud save on water too i  imagine

thats bit strange , i just used to ring straight thru reception to a guy called mark who was a top bloke and done everything that cud be asked of him and more

i found guys/gals on reception a bit heavy and unhelpful tho so thats why i tried to bypass them!
