Tradders and non stop rain
« on: February 06, 2014, 08:55:40 pm »
Just a thought I had today when out working in non stop drizzle.
How are the trad guys doing in this long period of rain?
It has to be pretty bad for me to stop work, therefore I hav'nt really been behind through this dreadful weather.
My thoughts today went back to when I was trad years ago,i thought "I would have been slaughtered recently if still trad''.
Any of you guys now thinking seriously of going WFP?

I'm trad Trippy, we still work in rain if there's low wind and the rain doesn't hit the glass. Extra careful on the ladder due to wet rungs, otherwise, business as usual. Not had the storms that you guys have had though. Chin up lads.
No still don't understand, I must be thick

Rain proof coat with a bucket on a belt on the outside was too uncomfortable.

Walking on a rain soaked roof, even when it wasn't raining, was too slippery.

Ladders on rain soaked decking, even when it wasn't raining, was too dangerous.

I am in Southern Ireland, not far from the Atlantic, and trad. It rains as much here as anywhere (nearly every day for the last 6 weeks). And I often get turned away when the forecast isn't good even when it is workable!

Hence I have had a fair bit of down time recently. But, despite this, I have done what I reasonably could. As long as I am not in debt and my family's basic needs are met, why worry?

I have seen the complete opposite.

Sunny today and all the trad cleaners have come out to play.

New customer actually had the cheek to say do the windows when you need some beer money! (luckily hes a mate)
