I bought a brand new van early last year and 90 % of the customers didn't notice and those that did commented favourably. They are either happy with you and your service or they aren't. What's it got to do with them what vehicle you drive as long as you don't lean oil on their drive?

im focused on transit connect t230 /   peugeut expert 2.0 hdi, /  citroen 2.0 hdi,    low mileage.     i owner, full service h.       i think a transit or a vivaro may be a bit too big for me yet , to begin with a van setup,     id probably still use my backpack more than my van setup,     because of ease of use,   
but a tank full of pure water will mean i will not run out and can concentrate on bigger buildings,    more pleasing to the customer, especially comercial.

Personally, If I was still in the trade and you came to me, I would recommend you consider something bigger than this. You need something that will support a 2 man system, so you need to be looking at a Transit T280 or equivalent.

Yeah a Transit size van does sound apealling, although maybe not completely nessercary as I can get away with running a 2 man system off 350 litre tank due to having the luxury of working in a mile radius of my house 95% of the time.

Im not ruling one out tho Spruce

Split the difference and go for the higher payload versions of the dispatch/scudo/expert. 1200kg payload, the standard wheelbase version has usefully more space than a berlingo/partner, but is still usefully smaller than a standard transit sized van.

Said it before bud but don't worry about distance. You'll limit yourself.
Get the train to wherever the van is and drive it home.
Make a day of it.
I went about 2 hours north of me for the van and about 4 hours south of me to get the car.
Make a day of it. Get a coffee, read the paper on the train, just relax and enjoy.
Even better, go on a rainy day when you couldn't work anyway.
If you don't want to spend the money trains cost, try national express. The coach is cheap as chips.
I actually quite like the train/coach. Probably get one once or twice a year
