Guys - Im Ditthering
« on: February 02, 2014, 04:28:04 pm »
Hi Guys,

Im ready to start my new wfp business beginning of March. Have the van bought and all. Now with the rain and cold weather my family are trying to talk me out of it. That's not my concern. Im just worried about getting the customers. Looking for some encouragement to give me a boost.

Cheers,
   Steve

At the speed your moving all the customers will have been picked up by more astute cleaners,

Not knocking you mate, but you brought a van beginning of December,  you must be minted to let an investment like that just sit around doing nothing day in day out

Done a quick canvass today picked up 3.   Yesterday picked up 4.    DONT wait until march is my advice

People are desperate for guttering jobs to be done if you feel that would be a better way in!

Your title of thread explains your problem, so you already know what you're doing wrong (or not doing as this case seems)

Not being harsh dude but just get on and start knocking on doors for customers....
If you dont want to go hell for leather then do alternate days knocking in doors and the next clean the ones you get, but sat around for 3months achieves nothing.

If you've got the money to tide you over for a bit and thats why you havent started yet then your missing a trick....get after the customers while youve got the money then you'll not need to worry when the money runs out...

 :)
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Well there's a customer for you - the new leaseholder.
Why not convert shop customers to window cleaning customers?  They should mostly be local to you.
I've got customers before while waiting for new tyres to be fitted to my van. It doesn't have to only happen when you're canvassing.

Nice  :D

What are your opening times...?
Could you get some leaflets through doors outside of your shop hours...?

Gonna sound a hard barsteward here,  but that's a pretty poor excuse all those models can be sold on eBay leaving you loads of time to canvass

The father in law was like you, spend loads on all the kit, then the excuses started as to why he couldn't go out getting customers, oh I just need a so n so, oh booked a holiday, oh weathers a bit poor,  oh,  need a different leaflet. And so on...

8 months later he barely had a dozen customers....

You need to be committed ( yes like me to the looney bin ) otherwise you will drift and fail, but best of luck

Its easy to earn a living from window cleaning in my opinion, as long as you are strict on yourself - which is easier said than done!

yup you wont last at this game mate .......... honestly ur be better selling it all now to someone who actually want s to work cleaning windows ............ go on dole and let your family pay your way as they have so much to say on the matter.

or you could get out there and start making some money ... stop listening to others and just do it .... your decision ... :)

People on this forum earn a living out of window cleaning. Some earn more and some less and more than quite a few just give up.

You won't ever know unless you give it a go but one thing is for certain, no matter how well meaning your family may be, they do not have the experience of those that post on here.

I've been window cleaning for 14 years. I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't earn a living from it and like many others on here I started out from nothing other than a ladder, an old squeegee, a bucket, a few sponges and some cloths and no forums like this and no one to ask questions to. My point is that you have all the tools needed, and the knowledge via this forum, then the rest is up to you and if I can succeed with less than that, and I'm not that bright, I'm sure you can.

Just give it a go.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.
