Buy a ready made van?
« on: January 24, 2014, 12:09:54 pm »
I'm looking for a better van as mine is a bit old and want to make a better image, been looking for a while on eBay but the prices are ridiculous .
Would it be worth buying a van and doing it all yourself?
It's less hassle buying a ready made van but surely must be cheaper doing it yourself, want to do a proper job of it, waterproof etc

The trouble with the " ready to go vans " is the person spends say 3k on a system, and expects to get back 3k on top of the price of the van !    And it may not be fitted correctly, so I would buy the van and get the system fitted after, and as you mentioned get it waterproofed  ;D

Absolutely no question, do it yourself. Like you say, the prices asked for ready to go vans are far too high.

Also, carrying loads of weight ruins vans.
If you buy a van that's been fully loaded every morning for 3 years it's gonna have worked harder than one that has just carted odds & sods.
But, agree with other posts.
Definitely do your own.
When I sell my van I'll reply it and just get rid.
